Amazing Cambodia: Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Angkor & Tonle Sap Lake – 5 Days

Your Cambodia adventure begins with your arrival in Phnom Penh. Your private driver will meet you at the airport, holding a signboard with your name. He will escort you to your accommodation, where you could have a rest after the flight or head to Pub Street to explore the city at your own pace and have a delicious meal.

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Have breakfast at the hotel and meet your guide in the lobby. Start your day by visiting the Royal Palace, where His Majesty, the King of Cambodia, and the royal families live. It is like a small town of royal dynasties.

Continue to Silver Pagoda, which is not only a functioning temple but also a repository for cultural treasures such as a 90 kg golden Buddha encrusted with 2086 diamonds. Then head to Wat Phnom Temple, which is one of the most important pagodas in Phnom Penh. It was constructed in 1373 on an artificial hill by the wealthy widow Daun Chi Penh.

In the afternoon, we will discover the dark side of Cambodian history and visit Tuol Sleng Museum (S-21 prison). This former school was used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces. More than 17,000 people held at S-21 were taken to the extermination camp at Choeng Ek to be executed.

Finally, we will visit the Russian Market (Toul Tumpong Market), the Market, where you can find everything: cheap clothing, a large selection of Buddha images and woodcarvings, betel-nut boxes, silk, silver jewelry, home decor products and local snacks.

Overnight in Phnom Penh.

Have breakfast at the hotel and complete the check-out formalities. We will transfer you to take a bus for 5 hours journey to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, we will transfer you to the hotel to have some rest.

In the afternoon, we will visit Artisan D’Angkor, a handicraft center for the wood and stone carving processes, and the sustainable project for maintaining the traditional crafts and giving job opportunities to the locals.

After that, we will visit Wat Thmey, or Killing Field, which contains a unique glass-walled stupa containing the bones of victims of the Khmer Rouge.

Return to your hotel. Overnight in Siem Reap.

After breakfast, your guide takes you through the Angkor Thom complex starting at the South Gate. You'll see the Bayon Temple with its 54 towers, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, Elephants Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King.

Later you head to Preah Khan temple and Ta Prohm where trees have grown over the ancient walls. The day ends watching the sunset from Bakheng Hill.

Return to your hotel and get some rest.

Overnight in Siem Reap.

After breakfast, depart to see the floating villages, where we will enjoy a private boat trip on the Tonle Sap lake. This is the largest permanent freshwater lake in South East Asia and flows into the Tonle Sap River, joining the Mekong in Phnom Penh.

As you cruise through the floating community, you’ll see houses, schools, shops, and even a police station built directly on the water. The entire village moves with the changing water levels and currents, offering a fascinating glimpse into the daily lives of the local fishing communities.

Then we will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight.
